Recent FDA Recalls
One of the most widely publicized drug recalls ever involved Vioxx. Unfortunately, Vioxx is just one of many drugs and medical devices that the FDA has required or encouraged the manufacturer to recall after evidence came out about the severity of side effects associated with it. Other drugs include Bextra, an arthritis pain relief medicine similar to Vioxx.
Recent recalls have also included medical devices such as several models of heart defibrillators manufactured by Guidant as well as an infusion pump manufactured by Baxter.
Unfortunately, many other drugs and medical devices remain on the market despite strong evidence that they cause severe and adverse side effects to an unreasonably high number of victims.
